Jury Makes Owner Whole After FDOT Taking Cuts Through Middle of Retail Showroom

FDOT’s initial offer in the amount of $250,000 was grossly insufficient because the taking devastated the showroom of a national retailer. Mr. Tobin tried the case and the jury awarded $1,100,000 after FDOT refused to pay adequate compensation during extensive settlement negotiations. The owners were fortunate to have rejected FDOT’s offer and retained the services of experienced eminent domain trial counsel.

Initial offer: $250,000 / Final Compensation:   $1,100,000
