Robert A. Schreiber uses his experience and knowledge of government to the benefit of property-owning clients. An eminent domain civil trial attorney since 1987, he has litigated numerous complex matters through jury verdict that have earned him a reputation as a fierce litigator.

Mr. Schreiber began his career with the Florida Department of Transportation and soon became the Chief of Eminent Domain Litigation for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. He supervised a team of lawyers and paralegals for the department and was lead counsel for all cases in his district. Mr. Schreiber was lead and sole counsel representing the department in successful jury trials involving real estate and business damage claims.

He began exclusively representing property owners in 1994. While Mr. Schreiber has successfully litigated matters where the amount in dispute was several million dollars, he takes pride in representing individual property and business owners where much smaller amounts are at stake. Mr. Schreiber has represented a vast array of property owners throughout his career including:

  • Automobile dealerships
  • Churches
  • Condominium associations
  • Convenience stores
  • Farmers and food distribution facilities
  • Fuel stations
  • Hotel owners and operators
  • Owners of single and multifamily dwellings
  • Owners of undeveloped tracts of land including submerged property
  • Pawn shops
  • Rental car companies
  • Restaurants
  • Storage facilities

Mr. Schreiber graduated with honors from Florida State University Law School in 1987, where he was a Moot Court Champion. During law school, he clerked for Justice Robert Ehrlich at the Florida Supreme Court and was selected as an intern for the Florida House of Representatives judiciary committee. Mr. Schreiber is a former co-chair of the Florida Bar eminent domain committee and has frequently been retained as an expert witness in non-jury eminent domain matters. He has spoken to appraisal organizations on expert witness techniques and has taught CLE courses on eminent domain. Mr. Schreiber is also AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer since 2018.
